Creative Critical Reflection
1. 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
Our product uses conventions by having the same idea of using sports to reach the correct media audience. We challenge other conventions by using younger actors. Most commercials have older people playing the sports. The younger audience are followers, so if they see a young influencer buying powerade they will follow in their steps and by it as well, that's the advantage of using young actors. It represents social groups because its quite literally only using one type group of people. Once you see the commercials for powerade the whole social group is sports related.
Our media engages with audiences by staying connected to the teenage "idea". We used a teenage sport with a young actor so it would reach the younger audience. Once they see people their age wanting the produce it makes others want the product as well. It would be distributed in sports magazines. For example, sporting news, sports weekly, etc. We would have pictures of the commercial in the magazines. We would also have it distributed as commercial in sports networks.
3.How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
My production skills developed by teaching me different angles and types of camera shots. I didn't know there types of shots such as tracking shots, long shot, high angle, etc. I also learned how to edit videos together. By putting the videos together and adding music. I also learned how to create scenes plus create ideas to come up with for the scenes.
We integrated all those things when we edited and filmed. Technology such as iphone to shot all our scenes. Online such as apps to edit our video together with scenes and also add music. We had to learn how to do all that on our own by using the online web to help us. Looked at youtube videos that show us how to edit our videos so it can reach its full potential.
