Planning Blog

 Props:

My group and I decided to do our commercial on Powerade, so the prop that is most important in this commercial is the Powerade bottle. Some other props included are softball related such as an Easton bat, a softball glove, face-mask, batting gloves, Tee, and softballs. 

Costumes:

There will only be 1out of 2 of our members participating in the commercial. The other will be filming. The actor will be wearing athletic clothing. This clothing will be athletic navy blue lulu-lemon shorts and white, blue and orange dri-fit athletic shirt. She will be wearing white Nike tennis shoes. She will also be using a hair tie to put her hair up in a ponytail.

Schedule:

10/4/22 discussed and established our props, costumes, location, schedule, and back up plan.

10/4/22 Started the research blog and finished the research blog.

10/5/22 submitted research blog.

10/5/22 make the storyboard for our commercial. 

10/5/22 we will shoot and record our commercial. 

10/7/22 we will start editing our commercial and fix it up. 

Location list:

Our locations are inside the dugout and on the softball field. I would say our first and main location is the dugout. In the dugout i first sit their looking exhausted and sweaty with mu glove and mask next to me. Then i put my batting gloves on and take a sip of the Powerade and slam it down on the bench. After that i grab my bat and start to head out onto the actual field. 

The second location is the softball field. I will walk out of the dugout and step onto the softball field. I walk over to the tee and then i put a ball on the tee and get ready to swing. After i get ready to swing and hit the ball, the video ends and a black screen comes on that says Powerade.

Back Up Plan:

If it is raining and the fields are flooding, then our location will change to an indoor facility near my house. The plans of sitting down looking exhausted and drinking the energy drink is all still the same. The only thing that would change is instead of hitting outside, we would be hitting inside. If our camera member was absent, then i would just have someone fill in for her. If i was absent, the person in the video then we would have to reschedule for another day.

 As we know from last project and this one, onara is the editor and camera woman while i’m the actor and idea person. With our final task coming up we have both realized that i’m going to need to learn editing. This is because the video will be longer than anyone we’ve ever done, which will make it trickier for onara to edit. Longer clips to edit, longer clips to film, transition etc. So i decided that i would be with onara while she edits this time. This is so in the future i know how to help her and i can learn by watching her. What we did is for the first part of editing which was cutting the scenes. Basically just cutting the scenes to be shorter so we didn’t take as much time in the video. This was easily done on the iPhone just by clicking edit on the camera app. Then she started putting the clips together. She put the clips together with an app called cap cut. Such as the key, they zoomed in out which gives the audience a sense of importance to the key. along with the statues of skulls and creatures.  3. What connotations do these images carry?   I chose onara to work with for many reasons. The first reason is i see her almost everyday afterschool for volleyball. So i would be able to shoot with her after volleyball or before outside of school. Secondly, Our parents are friends. They trust that we will be both safe in either of there hands. If i had a partner whos family i didn't know, my parents wouldn't be to comfortable leaving me in their care. Another reason why i chose her is because she's good at finding the needed and correct research. If we need to find something ASAP she is able to quickly find it. She also is a good value to the project because she knows how to shoot. What i mean is she knows how to recognize angles and shoot them clearly. What i can bring to the table is resources. We have already thought about our commercial and what we were thinking i can provide the resources we need for it. Such as the props needed and the transport needed to go where we need for shooting.
