Planning blog: Scripts

Scene 1- teenage girl saying goodbye to her parents around 10pm since they're going out to dinner. For this scene, a medium shot will show the girl saying goodbye to her parents. The girl then shuts the door and locks it. 


Scene 2: Transitons to the camera then follows her as she walks into the kitchen. The POV shot then shows her grabbing snacks and the tv remote. The camera then shows her walking to the living area to sit on the couch. she turns on the tv and looks for a movie. 


Scene 3: the girl hears a knocking on the window next to her so she turns her head around and opens the blinds to see if anybody's there, she sees that nothings there and goes back to watching her shows. A long shot will be used to film this so both the window and couch can be shown at the same time 


scene 4: Shows the girl getting up to refill her drinks and snacks, an over the shoulder shot would be used for this to show what she's doing in her kitchen.


scene 5: she then hears another knock but this time on her door so she goes from the kitchen to the front door and unlocks it to check, but again no ones there. A POV shot would be used to show her unlocking the door and her perspective 


scene 6: she then starts walking back to the couch and scrolling through another movie to watch while petting her dog, Medium shot/ low angle shot since she's sitting on the couch


scene 7: the murder walks into the house because the girl left the door unlocked and tiptoes towards the kitchen and grabs the biggest knife, panning shot would be used to follow the murderer into the house. 


scene 8: the murder comes behind the girl while she's on the couch and the girl starts to turn around in complete fear on her face and then it all goes black. High angle shot facing the girl

My perspective of the editing

 As we know from last project and this one, onara is the editor and camera woman while i’m the actor and idea person. With our final task coming up we have both realized that i’m going to need to learn editing. This is because the video will be longer than anyone we’ve ever done, which will make it trickier for onara to edit. Longer clips to edit, longer clips to film, transition etc. So i decided that i would be with onara while she edits this time. This is so in the future i know how to help her and i can learn by watching her. What we did is for the first part of editing which was cutting the scenes. Basically just cutting the scenes to be shorter so we didn’t take as much time in the video. This was easily done on the iPhone just by clicking edit on the camera app. Then she started putting the clips together. She put the clips together with an app called cap cut. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? casting by, costume designer, VFX supervisor, editing by, production designer, director of photography, music by, co-executive producer, produced by, executive producer, 2.What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? the images priortized are the ones that have the closeups. Such as the key, they zoomed in out which gives the audience a sense of importance to the key. along with the statues of skulls and creatures.  3. What connotations do these images carry? The images carry connotations of secrecy. The images give the audience a sense of mystery to the movie. Like what is the key for? Also the dark hallways give a sense of investigation and make it seem mysterious.  4. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? Group Blog

  I chose onara to work with for many reasons. The first reason is i see her almost everyday afterschool for volleyball. So i would be able to shoot with her after volleyball or before outside of school. Secondly, Our parents are friends. They trust that we will be both safe in either of there hands. If i had a partner whos family i didn't know, my parents wouldn't be to comfortable leaving me in their care. Another reason why i chose her is because she's good at finding the needed and correct research. If we need to find something ASAP she is able to quickly find it. She also is a good value to the project because she knows how to shoot. What i mean is she knows how to recognize angles and shoot them clearly. What i can bring to the table is resources. We have already thought about our commercial and what we were thinking i can provide the resources we need for it. Such as the props needed and the transport needed to go where we need for shooting.
